Product Clinics

Our specialty is conducting static and dynamic in-person evaluations (clinics).  

RDS has conducted over 700 static and/or dynamic central location studies globally for a variety of automotive and motorcycle clients.

Static clinics typically involve highly confidential stimuli (e.g., vehicle pictures/renderings and/or full-size properties) and are conducted within secured facilities such as convention centers or meeting facilities.

Drive clinics include respondents evaluating overall vehicles and/or specific drive-related features while driving them over a public or private drive course.

For these drive studies, respondents are accompanied by RDS staff interviewers who give instructions and ask questions at opportune times to provide a valid and safe drive experience.

Internet surveys

Internet surveys are a great way to reach respondents and gather information without incurring the costs of in-person product clinics.

They are particularly effective with stimuli/topics that are not confidential, study content that is less than 30 minutes, and/or topics in which a representative geographical sample is desired.

These surveys are quick to develop, and can be up and running in as little as one to two weeks. Our staff is highly trained on the latest internet technologies, and, combined with our data analysis skills, have results returned very quickly.

Internet surveys can combine any number of methodologies, including conjoint analysis, qualitative and quantitative information.

We have conducted numerous focus groups and other types of qualitative events over the internet, particularly in the recent virus-impacted environment.

Qualitative

We provide all types of qualitative research services including focus groups, triad interviewing, 1-on-1 interviewing, in-home interviewing and other variations.

These qualitative studies are done either in person (particularly when the stimuli/topic is confidential) or online.

The qualitative sessions are done either as stand-alone studies in which the qualitative is the primary/only methodology used or in conjunction with quantitative studies.

We have in-house moderators and interviewers and a group of independent, experienced moderators we have worked with frequently in the past to handle any qualitative need a client may have.

The qualitative events are typically webcast using our in-house audio-visual services using a highly secured technology, allowing to clients to remotely view the sessions and to provide real-time feedback.

Phone and Mail surveys

While typically no longer conducted with the frequency they once were, we still do conduct telephone and mail surveys when the need and conditions require these methodologies.

As with recruiting, all telephone surveys are conducted in-house utilizing our friendly and professional interviewer staff.

For mail surveys, we utilize a scripted process in designing our surveys so they are easy to understand and complete. Our goal is not to see how many questions we can fit on one page, but on how many valid responses we can get. We conduct all aspects of the mail survey process (except printing and mailing) in-house at our Cypress office.

Conjoint Analysis

At RDS, we have extensive experience (over 23 years) conducting both large and small scale conjoint studies, both as part of a central location study and/or an online study.

We have experience with choice-based, adaptive and adaptive-choice based methodologies.

We believe strongly that conjoint studies are as much of an art as they are as science and extensive experience is required to develop an optimal design and analysis plan.

International Research

We have conducted numerous research studies all over the world.

We offer the major advantage of coordinating multi-country studies and guaranteeing the same methodology is followed in all countries and maximizing the ability for comprehensive analysis and reporting.

We have strong relationships with research companies in other countries (for example, we have worked with the same Chinese and European research companies for over 15 years each) and can provide cost-effective and efficient coordinated research coverage virtually anywhere needed.
